Dr. Naguib delivered a keynote talk titled "Pre-Intercalation Effect on MXenes Behavior" at 3rd International Conference on MXenes, Ningbo, China, (was delivered online due to COVID-19).

November 9, 2020

Dr. Naguib has been elected to serve as a committee member in Center for Nanophase Materials
Sciences (CNMS) User Executive Committee (UEC) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).

November 27- December4, 2020

Dr. Naguib and group members (Dr. Kun Liang and PhD candidate Kaitlyn Prenger) delivered invited talks and oral presentations at MRS 2020.

June, 2021

Three members of our group have graduated or finished their term at Tulane. While we will miss them, we are very happy for them to start their careers:
Dr Kun Liang (Postdoctoral fellow 2019-2021), is now Professor at Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering.
Hudson McKinley (MS MSE 2021), is now a Battery Engineer at Tesla.
Shae Jolly (MS MSE 2021), is now a Battery Engineer at Advano.

Our recent paper titles "Synthesis of new two-dimensional titanium
carbonitride Ti2C0.5N0.5Tx MXene and its performance as an electrode

Our recent perspective article titled "Ten Years of Progress in the
Synthesis and Development of MXenes" that was written by the MXenes
inventors (M. Naguib, M.W. Barsoum and Y. Gogotsi) and published in
Advanced Materials as part of the journal celebration of 10th
anniversary of MXene discovery was featured as a cover for the
journal issue 39 (2021).

August 16, 2021

Our recent paper titled "Engineering the Interlayer Spacing by
Pre-Intercalation for High Performance Supercapacitor MXene
Electrodes in Room Temperature Ionic Liquid" that was published in
Advanced Functional Materials was featured as a cover for the
journal issue 33 (2021). This paper received lots of online media
attention such as UtilityDive, Inside Climate News, and Biz New Orleans.
